
Fatuma Issack Hassan is a dedicated Nutrition and Dietetics professional with over a decade of experience in nutrition services, maternal and child health, and community empowerment. She currently serves as Chief Nutrition and Dietetics Officer at Nairobi City County (Pumwani Maternity Hospital), where she leads growth monitoring, vitamin A supplementation, nutrition counseling for antenatal and postnatal mothers and medical nutrition therapy for patients with chronic conditions. Her work focuses on improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations, particularly mothers and children under five.
Each team member brings a unique set of professional skills, including expertise in project management, community outreach, fundraising, advocacy.

Fatuma holds a Bachelor of Science in Food, Nutrition and Dietetics from Kenyatta University and has extensive training in Maternal Infant and Young Child Nutrition, Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition, and Communication for Development (C4D). She previously served as Nutrition Officer with Mandera County Government and as Nutrition Program Officer with APHIA Plus IMARISHA, where she supervised nutrition teams, built staff capacity and strengthened nutrition programs in health facilities. As Chairperson of WAAP, Fatuma brings her deep expertise in community health, her passion for self-empowerment and her unwavering commitment to ensuring access to quality nutrition services for all.
